Hi All. Just back from level 4 training and had an absolute blast. I met 15 wonderful people who are all in my Singapore team. The first day we had exercises, towing another boat and doing a transfer from one boat to another. Spent the night on a mooring buoy outside Cowes. Then we started the race with the other Clipper boats, as a practice for the real thing. This was a triangular course from Portsmouth, round the fairway buoy outside Cherbourg, then to Plymouth and finishing at the Needles fairway buoy. Total of about 470 miles in two days, in maily force 7 wind and the first two legs tight on the wind, crashing through the waves. It was such a relief at Plymouth to finally be sailing down wind with the boat flatter so then able to get some sleep while off watch. My lovely crew mates have some wonderful snorers though. Had this in surround sound on the first night from three directions. The victualers had done a great job, so we ate well.
The last day we practiced a Le Mans start with the other boats and won hands down. go Singapore!!
